The merit medals were the Saxony-Ernestine House Order connected as the lowest class. This was jointly sponsored friend of Saxe-Meiningen by the Dukes Frederick of Saxe-Altenburg, Ernst of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Bernhard Erich on 25 March 1833. RR
